July bookings: July through mid August is our busiest time of year for lodging and typically fills up with 5+ night stays. We ask for a four night minimum at that time. Two and three night stays may be taken at the last minute (within 7 to 10 days) or when a two or three night window is created by consecutive bookings. Thank you for understanding.
This 1940's original Deco/Modern home features original woodwork, lighting and design elements and is impeccably appointed with period furnishings and art. Heister House is the vacation home for the discriminating visitor with an eye for style and design. May not be suitable for children due to fine furnishings, art and decor. The home is adjacent to Thonhoff Park and Salida's Art Deco courthouse in an attractive neighborhood walking distance from downtown.
An ideal home for an extended stay, Heister House offers wireless internet, a laser printer and fax and two office areas for the working vacationers. Dine at the round table in the windowed alcove and relax in the sophisticated living room, or by the fireplace in the lower level family room. The home features three bedrooms (beds include one full, one queen and one king) and two baths (one with tub only, one with shower). Walk to town for morning coffee and the quaint galleries, shops and restaurants of historic Salida. Heister House is conveniently close to the Salida SteamPlant Theater and Conference Center.
All vacation homes in the Pinon collection are "vacation ready" with a fully appointed kitchen, towels and linens. Hand, dish and shower soaps are provided as well as tp, trash bags and coffee filters. Bring your own laundry detergent, paper products (paper towels, napkins) and toiletries.
Three night minimum is preferred, however, two nights may be available upon approval. Two night stays will not be scheduled over two weeks in advance during High Season and Holidays. Owners reserve the right to accept or refuse three night stays during High Season and Holidays. Rates are based on six person occupancy. State and local taxes are added.
$45 applies towards the cleaning cost and covers accidental damage protection up to $1500. For stays of less than 3 nights, the other half of the cleaning fee will be charged ($45). Visa or Master Card accepted. Cash or Check receives a 2.9% discount.
Rental agreements must be signed and returned by email or mail at time of reservation.

***Review Submitted Juky 15, 2011 We so love Salida but had not been happy with the typical accommodations. A friend who lives here suggested Heister House. How very grateful we are to her for her assistance. The architecture, decor, furnishings and art are just wonderful. We enjoyed our stay from the first steps through the door until we left at the end of our reservation time. All the while know how lucky we are to have come here and how determined we are to return soon. Special thanks for the great amenities. We wouldn't have felt more pampered in any swell hotel! It was like stepping back in time while having all the technical amenities of today (wireless, internet, big screen TV, etc.). We loved the location & usually walked downtown for dinner and shopping. This spacious home was perfect; we each had our own office & computers in the basement. Deer viewing on many mornings & evenings was an added plus!
